A historic Black Metal site "Helvete" in Oslo linked to Euronymous was severely damaged in a fire 🔥

In a bit of sad news for all you Black Metal stalwarts out there, it turns out the infamous (and now former) Helevete record store in Oslo, Norway, was damaged in a recent fire. Investigators say the blaze started in the record store's basement, destroying irreplaceable goods and in the process.

Now operating as Neseblod Records, the location is known by Black Metal fans the world over as the record store that Mayhem's Euronymous owned in the early days. Though it was shut down by police in 1993 for all the negative press it had garnered over the years thanks to the antics of the Black Metal Inner Circle, it was reopened under its new name. Given its connection to the early days of Black Metal, many consider the location to be a museum of sorts.

According to a GoFundMe started to help raise funds for Neseblod Records, organizer Darren wrote that he was hoping that fans could contribute to helping get the shop and its owner back on their feet.

"I have been working with many Norwegian Black Metal bands over the years and Neseblod Records (Formerly Helvete) in the heart of Oslo, it has been part of the scene since the beginning of this unique musical movement, and is the heart & Spirit of the genre.

"A fire ripped through the basement and shop last night destroying an archive of rare Black Metal History!, I am starting this Go Fund Me to help Kenneth get back on his feet."
So far, the GoFundMe is hoping to raise £20,000, but so far it's generated £1,391 from 81 donations as of this posting. If you'd like to give back to the Black Metal community and help a business get back on its feet, be sure to check out the donation page for more information.
