Burzum comes from Norway and presents true, dark and depressive Black Metal. And I think that's all what I had to write about this band. There's a lot of controversies that I can't understand. But let's leave it. Burzum is a one-man-band and this is Grev Grishnackh. He has released (besides some rehearsals) his killer 9 track
debut LP on Deathlike Silence Productions (DSP) and lately two track promo that kills as well! Just soon his
second LP will be out on DSP too. The music is really evil and everyone Black Metal maniac should have this stuff. You can buy the LPs from DSP. There're special prices for East European maniacs so what are you waiting for? Also available are great T-shirts. Of you want to know their prices write to Burzum, Grishnackh – 45, N-5037 Solheimsviken, Norway. LP's order from DSP, Schweigaards Gate, 56A, N-0656, Oslo, Norway. Well, here's an interview with Grev.
Hello, Grev! At first, I'd like to ask you about Burzum debut LP. Why did you decide to release it on DSP? Does that label care about your promotion well?
There's only one label in the world I would sign!! That is DSP, this is the
only true label these days. I think DSP have everything I need!!! Just to be on DSP is a promotion itself. We all know
Euronymous don't we?
I know the member of Old Funeral play in Burzum. Don't you fear that the band will split up? How do you think, they like Burzum or Old Funeral more?
Well, you are a bit wrong! Burzum is and has always been a one-man band! I am ex-
Old Funeral. That is all.
Dark depressive Black Metal it sounds great. What are your inspirations? Do you take them from occultism and Satanism?
I take my inspirations both lyrically and musically from deep woods, medieval sites, forest view from mountains and the star-lit sky! I also get inspirations from occultism, Satanism and the like! Some music inspires me to like Diamanda Galas, etc.
How do you think, will you be more popular by releasing your debut LP? What is the reaction of maniacs for your music?
I really don't care. But if you ask. I have had total great reaction on the
debut LP, so I guess it will sell OK!
Your opinion of the underground scene, mags, bands, rip-offs, etc.?
It's no longer an underground that's for sure!!!!! There are far too many labels, zines, bands... and yes! Comp tapes! There must be more zines now that there are bands! And EP's... wow I think there must be 1000 labels and 5000 EP's. Well who cares! I shit on the “underground”. Rip-offs die... It's no big problem for me!
Here's the end!! Thanks Grev for the interview and take care. Would you like to say anything?
Make war not love...
