"Forest of N'gai" Magazine (1992)

I think this is one of the most extreme Black Metal band I know. They come from Norway and their mind, Count Grishnackh, plays also bass in the true Mayhem, a band that doesn't need any presentation. The first Burzum LP was played only by the Count, but today the band has a complete line up, and lots of new released are in the work; first of all, soon will be out a mini-LP with 3 songs. The band separated the people of Milano in two lines of thought: at one side those who consider Burzum too extreme, at the other all the weird people as me who absolutely love (and fear) the most evil son of Norway. Their sound is pure evilness and hate, they are a band for few... Try to listen "Ea, Lord of the deeps" I've listened very few so depressive riffs!!! Let's talk with the Count...

Introduce the Burzum project.

I will not answer this question, Burzum is not a project. It is my whole existence and it's blasphemy to call me a "project".

When did you choose to walk on the darkside... And why?

When I saw the children play in the sunshine
When I heard the laughter of mankind
When I smelled the flower in the grass

Your sound is very depressive... How is living a life in human form?

Life is why I choose the path of eternal sorrow. Life is joy, love and happiness. I do not live as I do not know these gifts that God gave to mankind.

I'm not a child of humans.

I'm a son of the forces of time. A son of the mighty one. He whose name is not to be spoken.

What does Burzum mean?

Its meaning names the essence growing rapidly... to the horror of the living. Burzum rules my mind. It's darkness where I dwell.

Tell me something about your lyrics.

It's pure cold hate. It's worship of war, misery, destruction, sorrow and of the dark one.
